Based on the classical principle of an inherent similarity between
the universal and the individual—Siddha medicine is one of
the oldest medical traditions. Too often confused with ayurveda,
it is a pure Dravidian system that started in southern India much
before the Aryan era. Ever since the time of the legendary Sage
