Question 11. Hello doctor I m suffering from OCD ,in which I m bound to pull my eye brow ,eye lash hair ..and i m suffering from past 14 years ,,,,..my life is hell...no one knows about it ,,,I cant share with any - Chiranjeevi Rathnam On 5 March 2009 Various therapies can help to overcome OCD, you can go for cognitive therapy, somatic experiencing therapy, emotional freedom therapy, NLP, imagery healing, hypnotherapy or regression therapy or a combination of these. OCD is related to anxiety and since you have been pulling the eye lashes & eyebrow hair it may have something to do with what you found frustrating to look at or see at the time that this began. Working at the level of subconscious mind and superconscious mind/ higher self would be helpful as this is soul healing therapy. Our unresolved emotions create disturbances in our energy system and in our bodies. Soothing and cleansing and healing your body and energy systems from these emotional residues can free you from this suffering. Question 12. Dear Dr, I am a father (44 years old) of 2 children (aged 13 and 7). Whenever I sit down to teach my children, I experience a severe abdominal pain. Then, within a few minitues, I lay down & go into a - Nigel Bradbury On 4 March 2009 Your practices are helpful in calming the mind though they are not always helpful in giving us tools for emotional management particularly in the area of managing relationships. There are specific tips and tools in communications in parenting relationships that enable us to convey our understanding or get the disciplined behavior with children. Knowing this can help us feel relaxed. It is obvious that some tension arises when you are going to deal with children and especially for studies. Regression therapy can also help you to discover and heal the roots of this in the present life or a past life. You may have had difficult experiences around studies with parents or teachers earlier. Question 13. Dear doctor, for the past 3 years, i have been having some conflicts with my self and have developed some kind of an 'anti-me squad'.Whatever i try to do consciously is hindered by an inhibiting factor - Prafull Chaudhary On 4 March 2009 Morning and night times are good to time to re-program oneself. Affirmations of what you want happening and imagining this happening successfully can help instead of dreading the problem. Use writing instead of thinking as a way to turn around the ‘anti-me’ process that gets triggered. When we write our thoughts they become more coherent and it is easier to not get repetitive and put this into perspective. The anti me part of you is actually your worried self that is trying to push you to deliver though with a harsh way that actually de motivates you than helps you. This anti me/ worry part feels settled as it feels we have paid attention to it when we write down the thoughts and does not fight to get attention which is what happens when you go into over thought. Once written you can see them in a more balanced way. You can also bring back trust with yourself by deciding that all you are expected to do in any situation is decide on the study plan and simply focus on it without stopping to judge whether you will get the result or not or are you reaching your target. Allow yourself to do what you find possible to do and leave the rest to God/ higher power. Various forms of therapy mentioned earlier that work at sub conscious mind levels and on the energy systems can help. Question 14. I am suffering from insomnia and depression.i suffered earlier also in 2007 may and then revcoved completely in april 08.again in start of january i lost my sleep and slowely and slowely depression go - Iylango Minawala On 4 March 2009 Good psychotherapy can help you recover from insomnia and depression. Medications help temporarily and often feel like numbing the emotion. Simultaneously taking therapy would slowly reduce need for medication. Depression is often due to the gap between our expectations and the reality. Accepting the limitations of reality in a non judgmental way that it does not mean we are doomed or unlucky or inadequate helps to not get bogged down. Reality that does not meet our expectations could be better accepted when we realize that we may have some learning here for our self and our soul and it can be the doorway to evolve and go closer to our higher purpose. It is also a time to reflect practically that what would you need to do different with the difficult reality so you can still be ok for your goals or your values. Reading positive thoughts, stories, physical activity of yoga, tai chi or walking or aerobics or dance – all these help energize us. Focus sometimes on non result oriented learning to enrich the senses like music and the arts. Connecting with nature – all these are small steps that are important to incorporate in the day. Connect with all that you can have gratitude for daily in the morning and at bedtime, and set your intentions at both times for your sleep and your day on what you want happening. Often ask not for getting sleep but ask to feel peaceful and relaxed even whether you get sleep or not. Learning psycho social skills of assertiveness or self motivation through various forms of therapy – cognitive behavioural therapy, regression, EFT, NLP, somatic experiencing all these can be very helpful. Question 15. what one should do. whenever i had to talk to a stranger or in front of some audience i dont feel comfortable and also get nervousness. - Rajendra Maurya On 6 March 2009 Work to connect not to create or worry about creating an impression but rather communicating from the level of the heart – getting to know and be curious about the other person. Feeling anxious whilst talking to an audience is a very normal reaction as it is listed as one of the top fears that people face. Planning your beginning with an interesting fact or story to catch people’s attention helps you get into the flow and to get your audience’s attention. Also mental rehearsals of it happening the way you want it to happen helps. Some fears are best faced with putting oneself through the experience we fear in small steps that we can get success with and then move on to bigger steps. Hence public speaking classes are like safe places to practice and the small step you can sometimes take or do some presentation with a friend or mentor. Therapy can also help you in this. |
