Question 40. Dear Dr. Ramesh, I have been suffering from imbalance / vertigo for the last 3 years. Prior (1 year) to it I had a Vitamin B12 deficiency for which I had taken Psychiatric treatment. Now my only problem is that I get drifted to the right and sometimes experience more weight at the left while walking. I have consulted a ENT surgeon & Neurologist with necessary investigations like MRI scan and so. Finally they have concluded that it is Imbalance / Vertigo for which I need to do exercises 4-5 times a day. Could you kindly give me a good solution (Imbalance leads me to confusion and irritation)?  - Mohit Mehra On 23 September 2011

Your imbalance and giddiness may be due to degenerative changes on your cervical vertebrae or an imbalance due to an internal ear changes. You need to be examined by an experienced Ayurvedic Physician before doing any treatment. Getting up slowly without jerky movements and using a thin pillow (1-2 inches thick) would be useful in improving the quality of life. If somebody call you from behind, kindly turn your whole body (not only the neck) to speak to him. If you turn only your neck all of a sudden, you may fall down due to giddiness.
