Question 46. I have read somewhere that eating fruits first thing in the morning is highly beneficial. Is that so? What is better, fruits or sprouts in the morning? Can fruits / sprouts be followed by milk? - Anubha Prasad On 6 January 2010 Yes, fruits first thing is best because they get assimilated quickly & don't need to be mixed with other foods which creates a problem. But sprouts right after fruits is fine. Milk is okay with sweet fruit, not sour. However, the best is if milk is had all by itself & fruit separately all by itself. This way both get utilized in the way that is most healthful. All meals should be kept simple rather than complex. Just as life. Question 47. I want to put on weight. I am 5`10 and weigh 74 kgs. Want to loook a bit muscular. I used to go to gym but now am not that regular. - Sridhar Jain On 1 January 2010 Please follow my basic guidelines. It will surely help but you need to exercise & get plenty of sunshine. When you go to the gym, eat an extra handful of nuts. As you grow older you will anyways gain weight. So enjoy being slim. Question 48. Thank you for taking the time to view my question. My 4 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with stage 4 Burkitt`s Lymphoma this past January. I have wanted to change our diets for a long time now and haven`t, but now see the need to. What are the first steps to changing our diets to the most nutrious organic foods. I suspect with children you have to start slowly, but I could be wrong. He is currently undergoing chemotheraphy and not much of an appetitie. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. - Martin On 21 March 2010 So sorry to hear about what you & your son are going through. Please see a good Ayurveda & Homeopath to help you both able to cope better with the chemotherapy. When a child has no appetite, fruits & coconut water are ideal. Organic brown rice is absolutely essential to help the body heal. Read my basic guideline. If you follow this, the child will not even know there is a change. Only the base ingredients will change, his favourite foods will remain the same. With just a bit of creativity, food can be made delicious for the entire family. Please do agnihotra to heal the atmosphere & your family (www.shivpuri.org). Remember the body's natural state is health, a return to nature's ways will restore health. Sending healing energy for your son with my every good wish. Question 49. I want to loose my weight I am 37 yr old and weight 92 , pure vegetarian , height 5.10, my target is to reduce fat from tummy portion mainly. - Neeraj On 18 March 2010 I am really glad you want to reduce only from your tummy. That is the way to go rather than having some golden number in your head. Please read the basic guideline. The more you follow the guideline, the quicker you will lose weight. Remember that you will not lose weight by eating less but by eating whole & natural. The very problem of weight gain is because we eat refined foods which temporarily satisfy the belly but not the cell. So the cell sends out a hunger signal soon after a meal making us eat again. Simplify your meals & choose unrefined foods beginning with organic brown rice & see the difference in your weight, especially your flat stomach. The other rewards will be better health & more energy. Question 50. Dear Madam namskar,
