Ananda - The Worry Box

by Life Positive

"I am so worried about my maths test," said Meenal, "I am sure I will never be able to do well in that subject."

"Yes, mathematics is really horrible. I am worried about it, too," agreed Reema.Kiran was watching quietly. "Don't you have a problem with maths?" Meenal asked her. "Studies are the last thing on my mind," Kiran replied. "Nowadays, I am so upset with my brother at home who keeps teasing me."Ananda stepped in with a grave look. "I think we all need a box to dump our fears and worries," he pronounced. "This box will be opened every Wednesday but until then, we will not discuss it or think about any of the things we have written in it. Agreed?" The children nodded a bit hesitantly. The 'worry and hate' box was created and the children wrote down little notes and dropped them in. After a week, the little box was opened and each note read out. "I hate mathematics," Meenal read out from her note, a bit sheepishly. "Well, it's not too bad. The test was pretty decent," she said. Reema nodded. "My brother is not too bad. Since I stopped reacting, he has become pretty mild," Kiran stated, crumpling her note. Smilingly, Ananda gave them all a hug. Apply it: When stressed or worried, remember, it is just a temporary phase. Live life with the motto, "This too shall pass."
