Zapp Ė The Squirrel Who Wanted to Fly, Written By: Rachit Kinger, Published By: Wisdom Tree, Price: $ 7.95
This book is a wonderful example of how easy it is to live our dreams when our vision and understanding is not clouded by preconceived notions and biases. When the mind is fresh and decides for itself what is right and wrong, breakthroughs are made.
The book brings out the innate curiosity in each one of us, which over the years has been suppressed. The young squirrel, Zapp, represents this curiosity as he befriends his predators, a snake and an eagle. He longs to do something which he finds interesting and not the mundane food gathering that all of his species do. He learns to see things for what they are, not how others see it.
The message the book conveys is to resist being influenced by what others think or feel is right, but to discover for yourself what is right for you and then do it. The book suggests that instead of having preconceived notions of people based on what others say or think, we need to have the gumption and independence to make up our own minds. Your life is what you make of it, donít let the experience or judgments of others influence it.
While meant for a young mind, this book can unearth long-forgotten dreams in even the oldest of us.
