Personal Growth - Food as Medicine
by Life Positive
She wants to increase the numbers with this book which speaks to readers about the A – Z of health, taking a few common diseases with each letter of the alphabet, and suggesting dietary remedies. She also educates the reader about problems with diets, and need for detoxification. I, with my perennial hair loss problem, found great solace towards the end of the book where she gives beauty tips along with a diet recommendation for a head full of bouncy, strong hair, and face beaming with a bridal glow. Even if you are fifty.
The book is a complete treasure house for health tips. For instance, did you know you can make your own decongestant tonic by boiling 4-5 onions and 2-3 cloves of garlic for half an hour, blending it, straining it, adding half a cup of honey, and sipping it at regular intervals for a squeaky clean respiratory system? Or that ginseng can actually help fight your blues by increasing your energy levels, and thereby setting your spirits soaring? And red wine is terrific for the heart? In fact a glass- ful has the goodness of three glasses of grape juice within it? Cheers to that! With each chapter you will be convinced that almost everything you need to remain healthy can be found in your kitchen. And what a revelation this is to our generation, who pops over-the-counter pills, and rushes to doctors at the slightest advent of a headache, or even the beginning of a sneeze! Simple, and useful, this book will come as a boon to anyone who believes, or who wants to believe, what Hippocrates, the great Greek healer, proclaimed, "…our food should be our medicine."
