Book Reviews - The Magical World Of Dreams
by Dayal Mirchandani
For those who would like to heal themselves through alternative means and also help their family and friends, this is an excellent and very thorough source book. The therapies dealt with are conducive to self-healing, and can be picked up from a book.
Like most alternative healers, David Vennells was drawn to alternative healing when he himself suffered from a malaise that yielded to an alternative approach. In his case it was Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. On a friendís suggestion he resorted to alternative therapies and found to his delight that alternatives go beyond symptoms to the cause, which could be either at the body, mind or spirit level.
Indeed, Vennells rightly pinpoints that the source of true and lasting health is in healing oneís heart, and being free of negative emotions.
This book takes a broad and deep look at healing, acknowledging that connection with the Universal Life Force, aka God, is the most crucial aspect of good health. A spiritual connection cultivated through meditation, prayer or other means not only purifies us and heals us profoundly, but will also accent our altruism. Caring for the patient, he observes, is what really unleashes healing energy. Love, after all, he points out, is the most potent healing tool.
That established, subsequent chapters deal with therapies like aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, Bach flower remedies, homoeopathy, herbal medicine, crystal therapy, yoga, and meditation.
Vennellís careful, caring approach makes this book a very valuable reference book.
