Have you ever thought about how much your parents love and protect you? They care for you when ill, feed you the best of foods, give you the best education and in every way put your needs ahead of theirs. Why do they do it? One reason, of course, is because they love you, but it is also because you need their help. In the same way, can we also give help to those smaller than us? You must already be doing this for your younger brothers and sisters which is splendid of you! But can I invite you to also protect the plant and animal worlds? When you see other children beating or making fun of tiny puppies and kittens, can you come to their aid? Can you give the occasional hungry street dog a biscuit? Can you give water to plants in your society? Can you ensure you don’t trample on them? Remember that God gave us human beings many gifts and strengths. The reason for this is so that we can take care of God’s world. Always remember that the bigger and the stronger has the responsibility to look after the weaker and the smaller. This is God’s design for us.
