Life - Dreamtime

The best of both worlds
In the present age people are lured by materialism, perennially thirsting for profit and power, irrespective of the means. This phenomenon, which has its source in the west, has caught the fancy of all the countries, India included. It has remained by and large a soulless edifice, an oasis of plenty for a few in the midst of poor quality of life for many. But the current economic meltdown has shaken the very foundation of capitalism. The Bhagavad Gita couldn’t have captured it better: “Those who earn wealth only for themselves consume sins that lead to frustration and failure.” The New World will now fine-tune the western model of efficiency, dynamism and strife for excellence with India’s holistic attitude of lokasangraha – for the welfare of many, for the good of many. We can envision the dawn of the golden era of Satyayug.- Arun Madhavanji, Theologian, Bangalore
Ultimately, everything rotates around the creation of a thought. Create a good thought, let the intellect analyse it and put that thought into action, in turn creating a good impression on the mind, leading to good samskaras (habits).
If we constantly, relentlessly work in this manner, our vision of a peaceful world can actually become a reality. The idea is to get more and more people into accepting that a peaceful world is possible only if there is a peaceful me. My vision is of a world, not with a hundred religions but with one spiritual goal. So walk over Kalyug and welcome Satyug. - Maneck Thakkar, Mumbai
A peaceful world is possible only if there is a peaceful me Involution into oneness
We all know that we are energies and so is everything around us and we all come from one single source – God, who is the grandest creator of all that is and that makes all of us co-creators with It.
Due to our evolving nature we have to transcend from non-loving beings. Hence movement has begun for involution towards God, who is the embodiment of love, resulting in increased spirituality across the earth, thus striking a balance between the evolution and involution, inducing oneness.
Hence this new age can be defined as the age of enlightenment or oneness.- Bhavesh and Meeta, Mumbai
A resplendent new world
I’m a teacher. After one brainstorming session on ‘how this earth can be made a better place to live in’, I was overwhelmed by the response I received from sixteen-year-old students and it inspired me to write this poem.
I saw the path lit up
With a glow of celestial light
The road looked illumined
The horizon a resplendent sight.
The world with a smiling rainbow
As picture perfect as it could be
As God Almighty
Must have conceived it to be.
The play of light and shade was dramatic
That displayed the warm glow in the hearts
The faces couldn’t be scanned
Nor be read in parts.
Their colour or religion,
Race or origin
For they all believed
In only one human religion
No hatred, no greed
No pain, no malice
No boundaries, no walls
No shame, no avarice
Neighbours were friends
Be it sunshine or rain.
Milk of human kindness
Flowing in their vein.
Soaking hearts with compassion,
Joys of harmony
Enveloping the creation.
Empathy walked on the streets,
Providing succour and relief
Peace reigned supreme
Ending craving and grief.
To be lulled back into sleep
I sent a silent prayer
I didn’t want to wake up
As my dream world would disappear.

A golden future
New Age always existed as a possibility. Now it is willing to be born out of the co-creation of awakened individuals. It is ready to be attracted into our collective reality as a phenomenon of love, bliss and timelessness. We will see the people living in the New Age breathing in and out the air of unconditional love. Their definition of self will extend to the whole world, and they will truly live to serve others. We will feel the social, political and economic garments of this Age woven out of the fabric of joy. All work will be done ‘out of happiness’ rather than ‘for happiness’. Medicines will not be needed. Health will be in the individual’s own hands. Policing will be dispensable. Prisons and punishment will be obsolete. Discipline will be natural. Borders will open up. Humanity will live together in harmony as one family. People will choose the most selfless group to govern their common affairs.
Physical immortality will be a choice available to many. Communication won’t require words anymore. Travel will not just be through physical movement. Energy would be as easily consumed as solid food. Acceptance and forgiveness will be recognised as the refined religion to be followed by all. Light of God will shine through the heart, mind and soul of all beings. -P.Venkatesh, New Delhi
The age of consciousness
There is a song from an old Hindi movie sung by Kishore Kumar: “Sapno ke aise jahan me, jahan pyar hi pyar pala ho, hum ja ke wahan kho jayen, shikva na koi gila ho, koi gair na ho, koi bair na ho, yuhin hanste hanaste chalen, jahan gam bhi na ho ansoo bhi na ho, bus pyar hi pyar pale, ek aise gagan ke tale.” (let us go to a place under the sky, where there are no tears, no pain, only love – a dream place where every one is in deep compassion for each other, no one has any complaint and each one is dancing with joy without enmity and hatred). When I hear it, one part of me says, yes, this is my imagination of new society. The New World, where every sentient being has broken barriers of caste, colour, race and gender. All see each other in the image of God and the needs of every human being matter. Although the forces of evil are getting stronger, humanity has entered a new phase of personal and social transformation. As Eckhart Tolle says in his book, A New Earth, “A heaven or new earth is not a future state to be achieved. A new heaven and new earth are arising within us at this moment .A new species is arising on the planet. It is arising now and we are it.’’- Chitra Panchkaran Janakpuri, New Delhi
