News - Learn to heal through music
by Life Positive
Nada Centre for Music Therapy is a non-profit, charitable organisation based in Chennai which dedicates itself to propagation of the therapeutic effects of Indian music in clinical and non-clinical environs.
It has recently launched a distance learning programme meant for beginners who may be interested in the subject, and who wish to undergo an educational programme in the comfort of their homes. The programme is designed to create awareness of the basic concepts and practices relating to music therapy, as evolved over centuries in India, and more recently, in the developed world. It is open to both Indian and international participants who are proficient in English language, and are graduates in any academic discipline. The students can decide their own pace according to their convenience, and complete the programme in a duration ranging from six months to two years. The first batch of the programme is set to start in the month of July 2008, for which applications should reach the centre by May 31, 2008.
