Swami Satchidananda, the spiritual head
of Ananda Ashram, founded by the well-known Ram bhakt Swami Ramdas in Kachangad, Kerala, attained mahasamadhi on October 12, 2008.

Swami Satchitananda: God’s good man
The 89-year-old swami had been ailing for a number of years, but sources tell us that the end was peaceful. The gentle erudite swamiji was revered by his followers for his equanimity and wisdom. Says one follower, "I remember how devoted he was to Papa and Mataji (as Swami Ramdas and his successor, Krishnabai, were known). His was a life lived for others, not for himself." May he rest in peace.
Swami Ramdas is bestknown for his book, In Quest of God, an account of his wanderings across India at the behest of his ishta devata, Lord Ram, that is redolent with the flavour of surrender and devotion.
