There is more and more interest in the possibility that consciousness levels can change not just within the individual, but also transmit to the outer world. The Oneness University, whose mode of consciousness transformation is through energy transfer, called deeksha, became the subject of one such study recently.

More than 150,000 people gathered at Oneness University campus in Varadaiahpalem, 70 km off Chennai enroute Tirupati, to receive a flood of divine energy from Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan who gave a rare public appearance together to celebrate World Oneness Day.

The initiative was partially mooted by the Global Consciousness Project (GCP) of science icon and retired professor of Princeton University, Dr Roger Nelson, whose organization measures the impacts of various meditative and prayer processes on aspects of world peace. The GCP measured the rise in consciousness levels unleashed by the mass deeksha session.

Other prime movers for the celebration were the prestigious Club of Budapest, consisting of Nobel laureates, and the Goi Peace Foundation of Japan. This celebration was part of a larger global initiative praying and meditating for global peace across various strategic locations of the world.

Sri Bhagavan shared that when consciousness levels rise in the inner world, the result outside is a manifestation of peace, joy and love.
