Mr Saxena brings with him a valuable dossier of experiences which includes setting up of C-DOT with Mr Sam Pitroda and Padmashri GB Meemamsi. He was also Director (F) in the E-10-B project for induction of the electronic switching system in Indian telecom network. During his present tenure as Director (finance) of BSNL, the largest public sector company dealing with telecom infrastructure, BSNL has shown remarkable growth in both financial and physical targets. A brilliant student, Mr Saxena is the winner of many awards and medals, including the Chancellor's Gold Medal for being the most outstanding student of Agra University in the year 1967.

Mr. Saxena has been an active member of the Study Group III under the aegis of International Telecommunication Union. He was the Chairman of the Special Rapporteur Group of Study Group III for telecommunications statistics, which made significant contributions for the presentation of telecom statistics on a global scale. Mr. Saxena was elected Chairman of the TAS Group, the regional tariff group of ITU. for Asia and Oceania dealing with telecom-related issues for this region.Me Saxena is a keen student of spirituality, and has been a committed follower of Life Positive magazine as well as the Life Positive Expo.
