She is a multi-faceted personality—poet, writer, yoga teacher and painter. Her spiritual background is rooted in her study of Zen Buddhism and yoga.
“When I was on my first flight to the US in 1988, I was amazed at the mysterious Pacific Ocean. I asked what strength do I have to accomplish something meaningful? Today, my dream has finally blossomed into ‘OM’ paintings. I pray it becomes a life-giving water that brings hope and delight to everyone,” says Lee Hee-Sung.

According to her, “she has not chosen Om but Om has chosen her. Om is the only universal truth and people who are depressed when they come in contact with Om get immediate relief.”

For some, her use of Om and its flowing strokes represent the force of the Universe. Painted on handmade Korean or Nepali paper with natural pigments which she herself mixes

with linseed oil, her art displays a distinctive style in primitive colours that reminds you of ancient art used in temples or palaces.

Well-known in Korea for her collection of meditation poems and essays, this is the first of her series of art exhibitions planned for India, Mongolia, Korea and the US.
