Teaching Story - Fatima's Tent
by Life Positive
There once was a young girl named Fatima, who lived happily with her widowed father. Both father and daughter earned a modest living by spinning. One day, she went on a journey with her father to take their spun yarn to a new market. However, a great storm arose and the ship they were on was wrecked. In the melee, her father was killed. The heartbroken girl was flung out to sea and was finally washed up on a shore where a poor fisherman who made masts for the local boats took her in. Eventually, he taught her his trade, and once again she lived happily with her new father on their modest income. But fate had not finished with her yet and one day, while minding her own business, she was captured by pirates who sold her into slavery.
