Timeout - Hands of healing
by Ranjini Banerjee
Since I have just completed the basic course of two days on Pranic Healing, it was with great interest and enthusiasm that I undertook the task of reviewing this DVD (English) produced by World Pranic Healing Foundation (WPHF), India. The film starts with Pranic Healing founder, Master Choa Kok Sui, conducting the initial invocation or blessing session. Then it moves to testimonies of practitioners from across the globe belonging to different caste, culture, religion and geographical location, narrating their experiences and understanding of pranic healing as a healing tool. This, in my mind, reinforced the universal applicability of pranic healing.
The concept of aura and chakras have been explained with illustrations and other visuals. Here, I felt, that it was easier for me to grasp the descriptions as I am already acquainted with this concept. A complete novice may find it difficult to comprehend the concepts.
Basic definitions of pranic healing ‘as a way of life’, ‘bridge to spirituality’ and a healing technique for not just physical ailments and their symptoms but also every aspect of life such as financial, emotional and psychological, is established through the experiences of various individuals.
In between these testimonials, demonstrations were also given about the technique of pranic healing by the use of hands. The energy centres in the palms are identified for the viewers and also accompanying tools like the bioplasmic unit (vessel containing salt and water to dispense the negative energy) are discussed. An interesting concept was discussed which stated that if the human body is diseased, then it also affects all surrounding aspects like finances, business, projects, goals, etc. Pranic healing can be used to heal all these areas of life as well.
The film also has segments where different people who had come into contact with Master Choa Kok Sui, who is also founder of Twin Hearts meditation and Arhatic Yoga, described their blissful experiences. Concepts of all these techniques were explained in brief through demonstrations.
The second part gave a demonstration and explanation of the seven essential steps of pranic healing and also the ‘don’t’ which must be strictly adhered to as well. It is claimed that pranic healing is scientific because if the protocol and technique is followed step by step, then the outcome is always the same (90-95% times), indicating that the patient will be healed if steps are followed accurately.
This film may not be helpful for the uninitiated and can be better comprehended or enjoyed only by those who are already acquainted with at least the concept of pranic healing. Also, the division into the different parts seemed abrupt at certain places and might confuse the viewer. However, if you are curious about this powerful technique that has benefited millions and is easy to learn and practice, then this documentation might give you a brief understanding about the same.
