Making the Most of Vaastu
A plot with all corners at 90 degrees, having two roads at the front and back is a good ploto The open space left in north and east should be more than south and west
o The maximum construction should be done in south, west and southwest portion of the plot
o A pond or a water body should be placed in northeast corner of the house
o A house should be designed to ensure maximum entry of sunlight and proper cross-ventilation
o The entire opening should be towards the north and east side of the house
o Trees of any kind should not be grown in eastern or northern, northeast directions
o Only small plants can be grown in north, east, or northeast
o The hearth or oven must be arranged in the eastern or southeast direction of the entire house, in such a way that the person cooking faces east
o The shadow of any tree should not fall on the house
o Pictures of war scenes, demons, or angry portraits should not be placed in the house
o The slope of the property should be from west to east or south to north
