ZEN

INTRODUCTION

Zen is paradoxically the cultivation of non-cultivation, recognizing that we need only remove the illusion of non-enlightenment to become enlightened. Its origins are in Buddhism and the word itself is derived from the Sanskrit “Dhyan” (meditation), which became “Ch'an’ in China and then, Zen in Japan.
