Austerity

Deeply blasé ritualism has plagued religion since times immemorial. The relevance of austerity in religious practices is questioned by Sri Krishna in the Gita lambasting the claims of theological elitism all over the world. Austerity in the Vedas is considered extreme form of ritualism in our practice of any faith.
