In order to spread the wisdom of the sages on a wider scale, Poojya Swamiji
has written commentaries in English on the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Geeta and
other texts. The scriptural texts have been interpreted with vision and depth
to suit all levels of readers, with special focus on the modern youth. Many of
the books have been translated into regional languages. Audio and videotapes of
discourses of Poojya Swamiji and other swamis have also been prepared for the
benefit of interested practitioners.
Magazines
The Chinmaya Family's official mouth piece, a monthly called, Tapovan Prasad
brings the message of Poojya Swamiji and also reports Mission activities the world
over, along with articles in English on spiritual and cultural topics. It is published
by Chinmaya Mission, Chennai.
Bal Vihar (children's English monthly) a magazine with varied features of interest
to children published by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Mumbai.
Its center at Delhi publishes a monthly News Bulletin.
The
Chinmaya movement is designed to promote and encourage any activity useful to
society provided it affords an opportunity to preach and practice the 'Dharmic'
way of life. The movement is purely voluntary in character. Inspired by the spirit
of Seva, and sustained by a dedicated band of workers. Swamiji has been
the source of inspiration for hundreds of thousands of people in India and abroad.
