To me Reiki is a very deep spiritual sadhana which directly connects us to our body, mind and soul. Its therapeutic use is secondary. Reiki teaches you how to love your body, it also heals your ailments of body, mind and soul. The starting point is body but our aim is to go beyond body and mind and reach to our inner self.
