| The comment made above that Gandhi sided with Congress, and he led to partition is absolutely wrong. Its sad that people with half knowledge make comments these days. Internet is free, but that doesnt mean voicing silly opinions. Gandhi was the first to reject partition, he was the one who offered PMship to Jinnah. But, Jinnah was hell bent on a separate state, because he wanted to be a religios leader. He knew he didnt had a chance with others. Who cares what water Jawahar drank? Just because i travel in a Merc doesnt mean i dont respect India. He equally faced the British wrath, went to jail etc., for India. As to the Bhagat Singh, yes, we all acknowledge his contribution, but he himself before being hanged supported Gandhijis ideas of freedom. Please read history fully and make comments. Why are people blaming one family for political situation in country. What did the BJP etc., do when they came to power? They were all fighting amongst themselves. People wanted stability in power and if the Gandhi family is offering it, then people are voting them. No one is forcing anyone to vote for Congress. If any of you think that this is wrong, they why dont you come forward and do something to change, instead of just voicing silly half-read historic opinions. Mahatma Gandhis followers were more than 70% during the independence, and the Britishers were not dying that they ran away. It was the international pressure that was created by non-violence that led the Britishers to bow and retreat. I bet people have no knowledge most of the times what they are talking. |
