| Subject: comment on sanlekna |
| your article is really a good one.Today when people do not have any time for themselves and are miles away from spirituality, samadhi or sanllekhna is really something to be seen into with great care.On first instance it may appear for a layman to be a kind of suicide, but as u have explained it very nicely that it is acelebration of death. When a chid is born we celebrate the birth, then his mundan, then upnayan[janeyoo], then his marriage, then births of his chidren then their sanskaars,BUT WE NEVER CELEBRATE DEATH-well it an inevitable thing in everybodys life, then also we dont agrees with it.OK I do agree that we must live as much we can,but what to do when there is no hope for life. Its very good eg is the various forms of cancers in their metastatic stages-the survival where is counted in what is called as 5-year survival rates-many atimes which is less than 10 or 20 percent.HERE jainism suggests the person to celebhrate themrityu mahotsava-the sanllekhna-do not cry yourself & make others cry-rather u make yourself happy & give your blessings & inspiration to others. |
