A modern mystic Comments

Subject: A modern mystic
Thanks to Suma Varughese for the interesting article (‘A modern mystic‘) on Divyaa Kumar, a new model of the guru persona. None the less I seriously fail to agree with many of the points she has explained . Firstly, by mere discourses & meditation one cannot reach the level of universal consciousness for one essentially needs to learn spiritual exercises under a realized spiritual master . Scriptures hardly allow any room for the so-called ‘meditation‘, cause this is no way a traditional spiritual exercise . Meditation enhances concentration, in fact, it does not allow one to reach the level of true spirituality . Unless a human receives the grace of a realized spiritual master it is, literally, impossible to reach the level of universal consciousness.

Again , Divyaa Kumar, the contemporary guru has stated that life only is her guru etc . But without having a real, realized Guru who Himself has merged with the absolute, one can never even think of reaching the state of universal consciousness . One of the greatest mystics of modern times , Shri Shri Sitaramdas Omkarnathdev-ji intensely stated that without having a realized Guru one can never reach the higher levels of spiritual consciousness .

Finally the state of being a ‘non doer‘ can never come to one unless he/she surrenders own will to the divine will of the Spiritual Master .

I am afraid that the article may deprive the sincere seekers from the authentic essence of spirituality.
