Love in India Comments

Subject: concept of Love in India
The writer has opened his/her heart in this article. I agree to every word that the writer has written. Love has a much deeper meaning in India and is in a way contrary to the western concept of Love. The Indian scriptures are replete with examples like that of Radha-Khrishna, Shiv-Parvati, Ram-Sita, Satyavan-Savitri where love between the two has permanence, beauty and infinitesimal sense of peace That‘s why it gives everlasting pleasure. Achievingthis everlasting pleasure is the quest of life. It cannot be achieved through physical fulfillments only is clear to the Indian mind and that‘s why the outlook towards marriage is very different in India. It is not a union of two individuals but two families. It is not the Well-being of two people only, but, two clans.
Love has various shades too which Vashnav‘s emphasise, starting with Bhakti, like that of Hanuman for Ram to Maitrei, where Sudama and Khrishna are friends, followed by Vatsalya where the object of love is like a child to be admonished and chastised and finally the stage of mature love like that of Radha and KRISHNA.
