One day Budha wanted to clarify his finding secret of enlightenment to his followers as all of followers were either from jainism or from hinduism and still do not totally discard the practices and beliefs of their earlier period and as you know the Budha used to repeat his discoveries again and agian so that the new followers understand and pracice his own findings and his guidelines. The Budha repeats. Why because it is very difficult to understand his findings. One day the Budha wants to once again clarigy his findings and stress what is wrong and what is right on the part of his followers. He gave an example so that his follwers understand easily. He said that the path to enlightenment is not as extreme as followed by jainas who pracice personal extreme methods also that the path to enlightenment is as extreme as followed by hindus who practice extreme karma methods. He gave an example that his path is a pleasant one. He gave an example that that the enlightenment is as pleasant as having sex with a sixteen year old girl. And all his great followers were present. It was noted. And mahayana, vajrayana, tantrikavada followers started worshipping the idol, symobolizing a girl of sixteen year old. The statue points its left palm to the waist(varada mudra), the right hand catches the waist(katyavalambita mudra) symbolizing that the enlightenment is a pleasant one like the pose. Kindly refer to chanda maharoshan sutra on line available.

Shivites were closer to budhists and the statue is closer to shakti and one thing is clear the budhists does not agree with symbols of violence so the statue does not have have any skulls, trishula or any other arms the durga carries. Its peace and love. Only love from shivite system is accepted and not symobols of violence.
