| I discovered OSHOs writings after I began a path of discovery, and immediately realized I had found someone who had advice to cherish. I had no idea who this man was, and did not; I knew only that his words were some of the only words out there that really made sense, that fit with what I was finding out on my own. At some point later, I researched him and was devastated by some of the allegations -- the 99 Rolls Royces, the poisonings in Oregon, the arrests, etc -- and stepped back, wondering if I had been duped. But, in time, I came to one very personal and deep realization: his message was truth that helped me grow and understand and transcend, so how could the allegations be anything but lies? Ive come to realize that the 99 Rolls Royces were a joke to him, not an attachment, and that while he knew himself like few others ever have, he didnt necessary know all those around him as well, leaving room for them to make mistakes that hurt him. Unfortunately, there is a cloud around him. Many people, have heard the sound bites and think him a charlatan. Thats why essays like yours bring tears to my eyes. OSHO needs to be respected, his message heard, and that will take people like you using your gifts with words to help dispel the cloud around him. Someday I hope to be able to recommend OSHOs writings to any friend without worrying that they will dismiss him as a Love Guru (Im so glad that was a terrible movie) or a drug addict or con man. So many people could benefit from finding him. Hats off to you for helping to clear the way.
Thanks! |
