| What is All this nonsense. Akash Dharamraj is a foolish jaahil who does not know anything about Sufism!... Sufism is a way of life, not some gimmick to make money! All this Sufi meditation and psyhcadellic dance she talks about is fake nonsense developed by fakes like Osho and Gurdjieff. Real Sufi Sema is to be only experienced at Sufi Kharabat and Dargahs, not some air conditioned farmhouse on MG road! The way to Sufism is through Islam. Hu Ya Hu is a sacred Wird used by some Sufi orders to recite during Zikr. Hu means the existence of Allah as the ultimate embodiment of truth. How can you not first accept the Qalmah e Qalb as the truth before reciting these words!
Please do not hijack our humble and ancient traditions and try to globalize then by fusing them with Zen and Buddhism and so called Hinduism.
Sacrifices have to be made in life to reach Marifat on the path to Tasawwuf(Sufiyat) and the first step in that direction is Islam itself. Sufism is not a fashion or a flavour of the day like Bollywood and people like Komal Mathur, Akash Dharmaraj and other fools will tell you. Osho and Idries Shah wrote and spoke for western audiences, they simplifed and dumbed down everything and have assaulted and perverted the very core of this mystical tradition. If you really want to learn the rituals and arts of Mevlevi Sema, go to Iran or Turkey, Not to some stupid ignoramus, charlatan like Dharmaraj who is just trying to make money by mixing her shallow and inaccurate knowledge of all the different eastern cults like zen, chakra, tantricism, occult, astrology etc which are all false superstitions with Sufism, this is very disturbing and shameful. Inshallah she will pay for her sinful acts one day.
Remember you cannot be a practiscing Sufi without being a Muslim but only remain a distant admirer and spectator of Sufi culture.
Todays mish mash pseudo culture coupled with the need for Indias middle class to look and act Westernized has led to a complete erosion of traditional culture and the development of a horribly out of context unreal Americanized system of urban life. I hope that you will open your eyes and resolve your identity crisis.
