
Swati Chopra is a writer based in New Delhi, India. In her work, she focuses on exploring wisdom traditions, spirituality, philosophy and mysticism from around the world to try and come up with ways in which we can lead meaningful lives. She is author of a contemporary guide to Buddhism,
Buddhism: On the Path to Nirvana (Brijbasi Art Press, New Delhi, 2005). Her next book, a spiritual travelogue, will be published this year by Penguin India.
Swati joined the editorial team at
Life Positive in April 2000. She left for a year in 2002-2003 to head the spirituality desk of
The Times of India, and returned to the LP fold in 2003 to edit
Life Positive Plus, a quarterly journal on spirituality. From October 2004 to January 2006
Swati was Contributing Editor of
Life Positive, during which time she edited thematic special issues of the magazine. Some well-received ones have revolved around modern Buddhism, the Guru, Tantra, and Socially-Engaged Spirituality.
Swati`s articles regularly appear in the UK-based eco-spiritual magazine,
Resurgence. She has also written for the American magazine
Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, and her essay on the Dalai Lama`s dialogue with modern science was included in
Understanding the Dalai Lama (Penguin India, New Delhi, 2004).
