Ayurveda and naturopathy enthusiasts from across the world are in for a treat courtesy Ayush Darpan, a health quarterly with the mission to popularize the world of herbal healing. Founded by Dr Navin Joshi, MD, Ayurveda, the magazine also strives to bring the AYUSH system in the forefront of the Indian healing platform through national and international conferences, research projects, and felicitations.

The latest initiative of the magazine was the two-day International Conference held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, titled ‘Ayurveda for All’. The conference was organised in collaboration with Tathagat Ayurveda Research Foundation, Pune, and witnessed the participation of around 150 delegates. A number of ayurveda doctors and naturopaths turned up for the conference, with a bevy of participants streaming in from Mauritius, Canada, Sri Lanka and Nepal too.

The first day of the conference saw a grand inaugural session that opened with words of encouragement from HH Swami Chidananda Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. Swamiji hailed the significance of herbs with his slogan,‘Har har Gange, herbal Gange’. Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Prof. SP Mishra, was the chief guest of the ceremony while GB Oli, Director, Ayurveda, and Unani Services and Additional Secretary of AYUSH, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Prof. SP Mishra commented on how Ayurveda is the only system of medicine which provides us with the concept to live a better life, with an emphasis on improving all the aspects of one’s lifestyle.

The main speaker of the inaugural session was Dr S Farooq, President of Himalaya Drug Company, who emphasised on the need to propagate the tradition of Ayurveda along with the preservation of herbs for universal benefits. Pt. Manish Uprety, a fellow of Royal Asiatic Society, also elucidated upon his vision with regards to promoting Ayurveda at the global platform. However, the main highlight of the inaugural session was the revelation of ‘AYUSH Darpan – Ayurveda for All’, a souvenir compilation of more than 100 research papers on Ayurveda which is edited by Dr Navin Joshi, the organizing president of the conference.
