Illness and discomfort within the body is often the symptom of an emotional or mental issue. Instead of popping a pill, introspect on the messages your body gives you, says Deepti Gujar

Recently, I did a past-life regression session for a client who experienced a wound or a block at the back of her throat. Her reason for going into a regression was to find clarity about her career. She was wondering if she should pursue being a doctor. She also had a great love for singing, and had studied it off and on but never really pursued it full-time. During the regression as she explored this stuck sensation at the back of her throat, she went into a lifetime where she was a musician. During the integration of how that related to this life, she became aware of the belief that she needed to suffer, to delay her happiness, in order to deserve it. This led to her ignoring the pursuit of music which was her heart’s calling. In the process of regression, her body did not allow that to remain hidden anymore. In my experience, such unconscious wounds manifest into disease or illness.

For over a year my intuition kept saying that I was ready to do healing and music full time. I ignored it for financial reasons. I kept getting sicker and sicker for a year, and remained undiagnosed. Until a check showed that my vitamin levels were super low. At one level, I attributed it to my diet of being a vegetarian. At a deeper level, I asked myself what vitamins really meant. Vitality came the answer. Was I feeling alive? The answer was no. I was sapping my own vitality by not doing things that made me feel alive on an everyday basis. It has been a year since I quit my job to pursue activities like writing, singing, travelling, and anything else that fills me with joy. Yet today the stress of having a negligible bank balance is nothing compared to the stress of feeling dead and numbed by my mundane IT job.

The call of the inner voice

For healers, their clients are more often than not mirrors of something that is healing within them. Like this client above, I tend to delay singing, which has been my

Nice article. Yes, the body indicates any issues with not just organs but also the way we think and behave.

Excellent article.Thanks.Sickness and Depression have always been part of our lives. Joseph Grimaldi (18 December 1778 – 31 May 1837), was an English actor and comedian who is perhaps best known for his invention of the modern day white face clown. A famous 'sad clown' anecdote was first told of Grimaldi. A young man goes to see his doctor. He is overcome by a terrible sadness and doesn't think anything will make him feel better. The doctor says, "Why not do something happy, like going to see Grimaldi the clown?” The young man answers, with a knowing look, "Ah, but Doctor", he says, "I am Grimaldi."

We are so much wrapped in our activities and in our chores that we do not indulge in lateral thinking. We have to get the better of Pavlovian conditionig and revisit ourselves to find where we are erring. This might help a lot.We should exhume the elements of divinity and feel grateful for what we have more often than grieve over what we don't have.

All the new techniques of healing are nothing but offshoots of our scriptures converted into a psychological frame with support from Here and there. The moot point is the source and that is our pre Upnishadic and Upnishadic scriptures where life and living is dealt with extraordinary details after verification and they are verifiable today. Two things accompany us- one physical nature and other spiritual nature and we need to pursue both for a balanced life. The moment our mind dominates over our inner soul we start manufacturing our own ideas on spiritual things and loose track leading ro peace, abundance and happiness. We have a mind which wants ro enjoy thrill of a story, thrill of sensual feelings so on and so forth. In the process we allow our unchecked new desires and ambitions to come up immediately after one is fulfilled. No pause, no slowing down, no scope for our soul except to enjoy or suffer the Karmic reactions. Finally after negotiating many many challenging curves of life try to find something within to fall back to remain happy and then we discover our soul, our innate nature, our soul, our sense of discrimination and finally the cosmic power. By that time it is too late as far as the present life span is concerned. In stead of this if we follow from the beginning of life both the physical and spiritual aspects of nature and put them into our life stream without too much questioning which means without depending on our mind, we are led to a light zone where we get all answers of our previous doubts and help us to remain joy every moment irrespective of the outer circumstances or even under minimal outside resources. Today like new disease new therapies are coming to light and restless public rush to them to find relief. Almost every house of new special therapies have ' House Full board. I call them as explanation of unknown with a better unknown. Our life is simple, joyful, truthful in it's innate sense and we have to simply maintain it through the guidelines of scriptures suiting to our taste and temperamment. However I welcome innovations if it helps one to find ways of peace and contentment. Physical disease, sufferings, old age and fatally death are facts we have ro factor while preparing our template of life. Through love, compassion, helping attitude and service lat us try to make this planet peaceful, beautiful and sustainable for a long time to come.
