Meditating together for peace

October 2015

If seven people meditate together, it is equal to the combined energies of a hundred people meditating simultaneously,” said Tehruna Meresh, a Delhi-based Pranic Healer and a key organizer of the grand ‘Prayer for Peace’ event held in the spacious Thyagraj stadium, Delhi, on August 16.

This spectacular affair was a mass meditation session on twin hearts, based on a method inspired by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, founder of modern Pranic healing and Arhatic Yoga, organised by the MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Trust, and the Chinmaya Mission, Delhi. Around 3,000 people congregated with the single hope of energising the national capital by blessing it and motivating it to think about peace, harmony and friendship, instead of giving in to road rage and communal hatred. The mass meditation was based on the belief that when large groups are beset by negative thoughts, these thoughts cluster together and invite devastation in the form of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and other calamities.

Emphasizing the significance of this mass meditation, Nina Saxena, one of the organizers, said, “It first activates the heart centre before energising the crown. It aligns the two centres bringing about a huge amount of energy.”

“This was an unforgettable experience for me and words fall short to describe how I felt. The whole aura of the place was so mesmerising. What a wonderful feeling to pray for our closed ones, our city and our Mother Earth along with 3,000 fellow citizens,” said Mahima Yadav, a Delhi University student and one of the participants.

Devika Rani from Noida said. “The event turned out to be even more amazing than I could think. I am still enjoying the blissful energies. Whoever I spoke to loved it and was asking when it would happen again. It was also wonderful to see people of different spiritual schools get together as one to pray for Delhi /NCR and the planet,” she said.

Luminaries like Swami Nikhilananda, Head of Chinmaya Mission – Delhi, Dr AK Merchant, Head of Bahai Foundation of India, Ms Shakun Goel, Head of Pranic Healing Foundation and the like graced the occasion. A number of spiritual gurus from different faiths too participated in the evening, raising the hope for a better and more peaceful
