Sir I have constantly worrying about my career. I am now doing my BA in Philosophy. Being a science student in my higher secondary and changing my path to a career in chartered accountancy were the two major wrong decisions I have made. Firstly due to my poor academics as a science student to get an admission in a college but the only option was philosophy. During the first three weeks the subjected turned out to be great and influenced me to great extend. But now I have lost all interest and feel like I should take LLB as my major. My parents are worried and me too about making a mistake again. Sir Please help. What should I do?

Life Positive

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU MEET A CAREER COUNSELOR AND SEEK SOME CAREER ADVISE BASED ON AN APTITUDE TEST .It is unfortunate that made some career errors BUT not to worry , you can still recover from the same .The aptitude test will clarify the best areas of study for you . Another option that I would recommend is that you complete your BA & parallely pursue other diploma or job oriented courses in your area of interest .If you take a planned and well thought decision , I am confident that your career will be on track again ..BEST WISHES..

Life Positive

I am anxious that at this stage of career , you have many options that are diverse and varied .You need to meet a career counselor and focus on one or two career options you would like to pursue .This will help you to prepare for the entrance exams well and score good marks to get a seat in a reputed institution .Since your interest areas are very varied , some deep thinking and introspection will surely help you plan your career better .Geology is a science comprising the study of solid Earth, the rocks of which it is composed & the changes it undergoes . Geology is important for mineral and hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation, evaluating water resources, understanding of natural hazards, the environmental management & climate change.Marine biology is the scientific study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water and its impact on human life and the ocean itself .

Sir,m taking a year drop and m studying for aipmt.I want to know wht collages to apply in Kolkata for bsc psychology hons and what is d criteria... Also what is d difference between bsc psycology n bsc hons psycology.I searched online BT cudnt find it.I have scored 80% in 12th.plz guide me sir..I don't want to miss admission

Life Positive

I am NOT in favour of any student taking a drop for a year unless it is critical or essential .You may meet a counselor and decide after an aptitude test if it is medicine or psychology that is your first preference . Incase it is medicine ; you may even consider courses such as pharmacy or biotechnology or para medical sciences instead of taking a drop .Incase , it is psychology , then you may take a BA or BSc with psychology and them pursue your masters later on , this is possible at the University of Kolkatta itself .

Thank you sir for your guidance.i would like to know more about d process of being a psychologist like best collages in india and scholarships, scope of psychology, what to do after MA,n time by which I will be able to complete my PhD in it.

Life Positive

To become a psychologist , the first step is to complete a bachelors degree in psychology .You may then decide on your area of interest such as clinical psychology or counselling psychology or industrial psychology and then progress with your masters and them your PhD .Graduation takes 3 years and masters 2 years .The PhD process may take 3-4 years .I would recommend that you plan to complete the above without a break

sir, M a student who has taken a one year drop for medical n m really hopeful to do well in my exams this year.I have secured 80 % in my 12th xams under CBSE.I have applied for AIPMT,AIPVT.though m quite confident and positive for these exam,I want to keep a plan B as well.It might sound strange but m interested in psycology as well.I would like to know the eligibility criteria, scope in india, career options, scholarships and the list of top collages FOR PSYCOLOGY available in India.

Life Positive

At the outset , let me complement you for having thought of having a plan B ; this is a very sensible decision .Further , I am not surprised at your interest in Psychology as the medical field too involves plenty of use of Psychology when dealing with patients of different kinds & nature .You can plan to do a BA in Psychology as major and sociology as minor for your graduation .You can then decide about doing your masters in clinical psychology or even industrial psychology & human behaviour .You current immediate decision is about choosing a good college in your city and seeking admission into BA Psychology ; the rest can follow .As you are interested in the medical field , you may also explore options such as biotechnology ,genetics or pharmacy to name a few related options .Further , since you ahve ataken a one year drop , you need to rejoin college in any of your chosen options in this academic year itself i.e june 2016 positively . You can meet a career counselor and seek more specific guidance incase you need more clarifications . Prof R S S Mani, HRM Educator & Career Mentor (Reach me on 74980 16842 OR 9821091435 ) . Name ; Janet D'Souza Age: 31 sir I have completed my B.A AND M.A in English through Distance mode, now m studying MBA HRM online -ksou. I am very much interested in studies, if I want to do engineering how can I go with it ? if its not possible which further courses help me to get good career in my future ?

Life Positive

I am glad to note your keen interest on studying further . Since you have enrolled for the MBA HRM , my first advise is to continue this with full attention and score good grades .As you have already done your masters and bachelors in English , I think an engineering degree is not relevant & may be difficult for you to manage .In the current market scenario , I would advise some courses in mass communication or advertising or training which would be relevant for your background BUT after completion of your MBA .I could guide you better if you also indicate the nature of work that you are doing now

I am currently working in an IT company in the IT infrastructure field. I had pursued BE in CSE. But dropped out due to backlogs. I then did HW and NW courses an have a few certifications as well. I obtained BSc degree through distance education mode in IT Infrastructure Mgmt I would like to get into software development. Can I get placed if I do software courses. I am 29 years old

Life Positive

I am glad to note your positive attitude and determination to continue your studies against all odds.It will be possible to migrate to software development ;The first step you should take is to decide on an appropriate course that could study in the vast area of software development .You may then complete specific courses in that area and seek job opportunities in the same .As you are approaching your thirties , it would be advisable to move on to this study path at the earliest. .
