Chitra Jha

Chitra-jhaChitra Jhas life began in a small town of Punjab, where her father headed an educational institution and taught Economics. In his opinion, teaching in a college was the best profession for a girl. But when an opportunity arose for Chitra to join as a military nursing cadet in Kolkata, he offered his whole-hearted support. Chitra was the gold medalist of her course but when the time came to choose between career and happy matrimony, she chose the latter. Her new family introduced her to Homeopathy and a few years of dedicated study saw her qualify as a Homeopath. Over the years, while tagging along with her husband on his various postings, she managed to do a PG diploma in Family Life Education from Parivar Seva Sanstha, a Govt. of India undertaking in New Delhi, which included: Adolescent, Pre-marital and Marital counseling; and a PG-diploma in Preventive and Promotive Health Care from Apollo hospital, Hyderabad, which was about Lifestyle and Stress Management. She also became interested in energy healing and got trained as a Reiki Master, Inner Child Work Facilitator, Re-birthing Breath-worker, and Past Life Regression Therapist. She also learnt Emotional Freedom Technique, Thought Therapy, and Body-work. Simultaneously, she qualified and worked as a faculty of Communication Skills, Verbal Ability, Soft Skills and Life Skills for MBA aspirants. She earned an international certification as a Professional Trainer and Facilitator from Carlton Advanced Management institute, USA, in 2008, and started conducting workshops on Career Counseling, Personality Development and Life Management. In the meantime, her avid reading turned into prolific writing; making her contribute articles to newspapers like The Times of India and The Hindustan Times; and magazines like Advancedge MBA, Life Positive, People and Management, Eternal Solutions, Eternal Lifetimes, The go-getter, The New Woman and The Indian Age; besides managing various online blogs. She also translated books from Hindi to English and edited them. So far, she has written three books, Achieve Your Highest Potential: Be the Best You Can Be, published by Penguin India; and The Science of Meditation & The Science of Conscious Parenting which are in the process of being published. She is currently working on her fourth book, Achieve Freedom from Stress at Every Stage of Your life. At this stage of her life journey, Chitra feels adequately empowered to share her experiential wisdom with her fellow-travelers through her writings, casual interactions, healing sessions, workshops, and speaking assignments. In fact, she feels innately compelled to share and express herself. In her own words, Expressing and sharing my-Self is my most basic need, as of now. This may happen through spoken or written words; but it happens all the time, in spite of my-self. Currently, she lives in Jaipur with her soldier husband. They have two sons. The elder one, aged 26years, is a hotelier with ITC Kakatiya at Hyderabad and the younger son, aged 25 years, a NIFT graduate, works with a spiritual NGO, Ananda Sangha at Pune, along with his Spanish wife, Narayani.
