Nature Cure - A way of life, Author: Dr S R Jindal, Pages:277
This book by Dr SR Jindal, the noted industrialist whose passion for naturopathy is behind the world-renowned Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences at Bangalore, set up on 1978. Looks at the principles behind naturopathy simply but comprehensively. The cause of illness can be attributed to a sedentary lifestyle, wrong eating habits and lack of exercise, he maintains. He asks us to imbibe the wisdom inherent in animals, who fast and eat grass or herbs when unwell. They know that nature is the supreme healer. Dr Jindal narrates his own experience with stomach tuberculosis in 1955. He was declared incurable by all the branches of medicines. In desperation, he experimented with nature cure and yoga. His spectacular turnaround sparked off a lifelong passion for naturopathy to which he has devoted his life.Naturopathy is a unique healing science because it has no side-effects, he asserts. Who does not wish for sound health with minimum expenditure? Naturopathy believes that improper digestion is the root cause of all diseases and bacteria and viruses are the second cause. Nature is the greatest healer and food is the medicine. Naturopaths are especially focused on flushing out toxins, morbid matter, and remains of food from the body that harden the walls of intestines. The book highlights the role of methods like colon hydroscopy and enema in eliminating toxins.
The book covers all ailments from diabetes, abdominal disorders, migraine, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, arthritis, problems related to bones, genital urinary disorders, oral and dental health and substance abuse. It goes on to enumerate the symptoms, description of the diseases, how they proliferate, the role of exercise in keeping you fit and so on. The author also highly recommends yoga practices to accellerate the healing process. A perfect read for anyone looking for a holistic cure to ill-health.
