A Gem of a Therapy

A Gem of a Therapy

By correcting deficiencies and balancing the force fields of our auras, gemstones can powerfully impact our lives.

He gazes into the distance and talks about my life. I look around to see what is prompting him. There's a newly polished door behind me. We are in his office at Juhu, opposite the Marriot Hotel, in an enclave that is fortified from street noises.

After he is done with me with some accuracy, he talks about things in general, 'Towards the end of the year the stock market will collapse, Mumbai will have an earthquake by 2007, and Abhishek and Aishwarya should never marry. It will end in disaster.'

Dr Rajesh Pala is a well-known astrogemologist. Recipient of the Maharashtra Ratna award for astrogemology, he provides strategic solutions to people with the right gemstones, after analysing their astral, physical, mental, situational and material backgrounds.

'It is scientific and simple,' says Pala, explaining his method. 'I call it the cosmic ray principle. We are all aware of the rays of the sun, the moon and the stars. There are also invisible rays radiated by the planets. All these rays form a storehouse of cosmic energy. When we are born we have an aura of cosmic rays. The composition of the aura depends on the planetary position at the time of birth. This force field has its deficiencies, depending on the planetary position at the time of birth. If these deficiencies are corrected, the force field will be more balanced.'

According to Pala, the ancient masters established a peculiar relationship between nine gemstones and the different planets. Gemstones absorb cosmic rays and impart this energy to the person wearing it. His method is simple. He prepares the horoscope of the person, finds out the planetary positions at the time of birth and zeros in on the cosmic deficiencies and recommends suitable gemstones. Selecting the right gemstone is vital. The cut, carat, color and clarity are important. But, most vital, is the right consultation because 'the requirement for gemstones varies from person to person'.

Pala says that he was born with these skills and honed them over the years. 'My father taught me meditation. I was spiritually inclined even as a child. I was exposed to the teachings of Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahansa early in life and became a voracious reader. I took to medical studies but after the first year, at 19, got initiated into the advanced occult teachings of the Ascendant Masters. My teacher, Ron Philips, lives in Australia.'

Initially, disturbed by all this, Pala traveled extensively all over India and into the Himalayas. He studied psychotherapy, astrology, astrogemology, vastu and related fields. By the time he was 27, he started practicing astrology. 'The landmarks in life for the individual, the nation and the race are predestined,' he says. 'They are connected to past karma. The choices we make in the present help us to negate past karma. My role is to help the person take the line of least resistance and make the right choices.'

Pala highlights the power of gems. 'They should be used carefully. Even diamonds can be harmful. Afghanistan, Kashmir, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, riddled with strife, are also the birthplaces of the breathtakingly beautiful stone - the blue sapphire! The blue sapphire is governed by Saturn. It is the planet of obstacles, suffering, disease and death. Only five in a hundred blue sapphires may work their magic. The question is: which one?'

Pala provides scientific astrological consultations, a guarantee of gem genuineness from the Gemological Institute of India, abhimantram and meditation done on the stone, jewelery designing, spiritual remedies, and quality precious stones at wholesale rates.

'The human being is destined for liberation. The goal of the human race is to be a divine hermaphrodite,' he continues in that soft voice of his, still staring at space.
