Aao twist karein
After following Kamala Venkat’s demonstration, practise the Revolved Abdomen Pose regularly to rejuvenate yourself
• Now bend your knees towards your
chest and place your feet slowly on the
mat.
• Then exhale and drop both knees
over the right side of your body, by
twisting your spine and lower back.
Let the knees come as close to the
mat as possible, depending on your
flexibility.
• Let your arms remain straight at the
shoulders and twist your neck to the
left side and gaze at the left fingers.
• Breathe normally and feel the stretch
in your back and hip. Stay in this pose
for 15 to 20 seconds.
Jathara Parivartanasana is also known as
Revolved Abdomen Pose. In Sanskrit, ‘jathara’ means ‘stomach or abdomen,’ ‘parivartana’ means ‘to turn around,’ and ‘asana’ means ‘posture.’ Practising this twisting pose rejuvenates and re-energises the body and also helps in lengthening and realigning the spine.

• Inhale and roll the hips back to the
centre and place your feet on the mat. Then slowly stretch your legs straight and relax.
• Practise the same steps for the other side also.
