Becoming a victor of life with pranayama
When we face challenges, we often give up. People like Anju Bhatia from Chandigarh show us that we can become victors whatever challenge we face. Anju was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000 when she was just 26. This is a neurological problem that presents many challenges with mobility often being the primary one. This ailment has no cure as of now in allopathy but she did experiment for a while with these. She got disillusioned after trying various allopathic medicines for 18 and stopped all medicines. Then she started exploring yoga, ayurveda and so on.’
Once, a friend told her to try pranayam even when lying down. She did not have much hope but tried it anyway. Even without guidance, she could see a change in just 5 days with her legs getting a little sensation. This was a turning point that made her realise her cure lay in yoga alone. Now, she is a proponent of yoga for all. She did a lot of research after visiting various ashrams and has made a tailor made routine for herself that combines gymming, yoga and many hours of pranayama. Her major dream now is to make the whole world disease free with just pranayama beginning with MS. She has inspired many people with MS to attempt pranayama sincerely and get better themselves.
She is featured in international magazines and is invited to forums in Chandigarh, Delhi and Gurgaon. Everywhere her motto is never give up on life as there is always a solution even when you are faced with a challenge.
Kudos to warriors like Anju. May we all learn lessons of life from her. Anju attributes her recovery to pranayama. I attribute it to her attitude of working on herself without giving up on life, despite whatever challenges she needed to face.
