Saying no to ceramic landfills
Making earth sustainable is something we hear all the time. However, most of us just talk about it and do nothing. People like Shashank Nimkar Master’s do much more than just talk.
As part of his Master’s programme at National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad he co created EarthTatva with many who who defied the odds and kept moving towards their goals or stand their ground for what they believe in. These are his inspirations.
His parents, mentors, friends and industry colleagues have supported him the most
The challenges he had were getting the material composition right and high quality output.
He overcame the challenges by collaborating with various individuals and organizations who shared their knowledge and resources to find an appropriate solution.
His most empowering moment was the moment when his first prototype came out of the furnace. This was the first public outreach of the project that validated the need for this innovation and the graduation project jury under which Earth Tatva's inception came about.
His vision is to be able to utilize all the landfilled ceramic waste around the world and turn the landfills into green lands.
He avers that if you want to go fast walk alone; if you want to go far walk together.
He is very happy with the path he has chosen.
A wonderful path indeed and a lot to learn from.
