Destination happiness

Destination happiness

June 2016

There is no bigger game than liberation in the spiritual world. It is the Holy Grail everyone is chasing. This is but natural. After all, who does not want unconditional happiness, or, as the Buddha said, freedom from suffering? When we think about the human condition, and the immense misery that can be the lot of even the fortunate ones on Planet Earth, we can hardly imagine what absolute happiness can be like. What would it be like to be free from craving and aversion? What would it feel like to operate from no mind?

To attain this state is the purpose of human existence, and we have taken birth endless times only to take yet another shot at this daunting task. However, the present times are rife for us to succeed in this enterprise. We live at the cusp of Kaliyug and Satyug. Even as the world seemingly collapses in a heap, we are seeing the birth of a higher order, and a new way of life. This new way can only be envisioned by enlightened souls. Our cover story tells you what the state is like, and how to get there. Wishing you luck on the path. We have an interview with Rabbi Rami Shapiro from the US, a prolific author and speaker, who, in the spirit of our pluralistic times, is also an accomplished student of Vedanta and Zen Buddhism. How delightful is that! We can hope that in times to come, all our men of God, no matter which faith they uphold, will make similar forays into other paths, and therefore unfold to their constituency the one Source of all religions. What a giant step that would be in eliminating our needless religious conflicts that is convulsing half the world in strife and war.

We have striven to make this issue as interesting and useful as we can. Do let us know how you like it. And have a great month.
