Life Positive and I

January 2012

By Life Positive

I don’t know who I am. Theoretically I now understand that I am not a body-mind mechanism, but a ‘consciousness’.

Ostensibly, I am a freelancer and a seeker, based in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. Disappointment with ‘ideologies’ (both ‘left’ and ‘right’) prompted me to ponder deeply about the mystery of the Universe. At the age of 19, reading the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda changed my perception of life. After wandering for about a year I was initiated in spirituality by Swami Tapasyanandaji of Ramakrishna Math. A passion for reading led me to the writings of several masters that helped me to evolve. Due to this, my understanding of God, Universe, and Consciousness underwent a thorough change.

My journey with Life Positive commenced with the very first issue. Since then we have been travelling together, evolving and growing. Looking back, I can certainly say that LP has helped me to ponder deeply on every aspect of human life – body, mind and soul. I am grateful to LP for introducing me not only to the excellent writings of Suma Varughese and Megha Bajaj, but also to the wisdom of many masters. I am now fully convinced that ‘I’ can never get realised and that it is not ‘something’ that can be attained by ‘me’.

I am indeed grateful to LP for I am now in the company of masters like Sri Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj and Ekhart Tolle, who entered my life through this unique body-mind-spirit magazine. Like a honey bee that draws nectar from a variety of flowers, every month, I enjoy delicious ‘honey’ from the garden of LP.

When I look back at the 49 years of my earthly existence, I find that I have been evolving constantly in consciousness. I am happy, contented and encounter every event of my life with the view that, “Events happen, deeds are done but there is no individual doer thereof.” I now understand that absolute ‘surrender’ happens only when we completely surrender to this moment.

Thank you, LP, for being my Master, for motivating and deepening my quest.
