Combating pollution through awareness

The foundation believes in directly reaching out to  marginalised and vulnerable individuals, working  closely to address some of their most pressing  developmental challenges, and finding the right  solutions. The capital city, Delhi, has an air  pollution problem throughout the year. Factors like increased vehicular pollution and growing  public works, such as construction, are the primary  factors. The problem worsens during winters when  climatic conditions fuse with cultural festivals like Diwali fireworks and agricultural traditions like

Wingify Earh: Educating children the right way about the environment We have often heard that each step  makes a difference, so it is nice when  we see this thought put into action.

Anil Chopra from Delhi began Wingify Earth  in 2020 to combat pollution. This organisation  aims to build a community of well-informed  responsible citizens who actively take action  towards reducing pollution and combating the  climate crisis, which is the most challenging  problem that mankind has ever faced.

The foundation began creating persuasive video  content about climate change and, over time, it  expanded its focus to promote environmental  sustainability and take explicit action against  air pollution through education and women  empowerment.

Wingify Foundation, with like-minded  concerned partners through projects and  initiatives under Wingify Earth, empowers  the community and shapes young minds to  bring about behavioural change that positively  impacts the environment through small actions.  crop burning. The inspiration to take up this issue  was that there is already so much news and noise  around air pollution. People are generally aware of  the issue. But the means to mobilise the community  in the fight to improve air quality seemed to be  missing. A path needed to be carved out that would  take the people (polluters) from being passively  aware to actively taking positive action towards  solving this burning issue. The foundation’s  partner organisations also played a crucial role  as they were provided with a support network for  individuals contributing towards environment  conservation. Their initiatives include reducing air  pollution by adopting crop diversification, child friendly content development and dissemination,  board games, abandoning rice stubble burning,  and distributing environment-friendly books.“We  need to be more aware and sensitive about the  environment, air pollution, and its impact. This is  the only thing that can make our planet liveable  for all of us,” says Anil.

With their passion and determination, I am sure  we will hear more about them soon and continue  hearing about them in the area of minimising  pollution using their wings.

Farmer at heart

Many of us, the so-called educated  people, often forget our bonds with  Mother Earth and lead a mechanical  life. There are some, however, who are different,  like Ajith  Sai. Let us  know more  about him. Born in  Tirunelveli,  T a m i l  Nadu, Ajith  was always  interested  in farming,  and even  researched extensively on natural farming for his  PPT presentation. This motivated him to take  up farming studies. During his last semester,  Ajith did his project on natural farming but  he didn’t get  support from  his guide. The best project of  that year was  given to his  plant biotech  project. After  c o m p l e t i n g  his BTech in  biotechnology,  his father and  other relatives  studying in college, wondered why it could not  be made profitable. Since his hometown was  actively involved in agriculture and business,  he was well-versed with both and noticed every  change happening in these areas.

During his second year of college, Ajith was  supposed to make a PPT presentation on  modern agriculture. During the preparation  for his presentation, his friend Ganesan said  that his father is going to learn natural farming  after retirement, from G Nammazhwar, an  organic farmer. He then started finding out  about Nammzhwaar and learnt about him. He  was also introduced to environmentalists and  natural farmers from India and across the world,  such as Vandana Shiva, Masanabo Fukoka, and  Bill Mollison. After Ajith was introduced to  Nammazhwaar, he gathered information and  urged him to pursue his MTech and PhD. Ajith  did not wish to do so and felt that if he did  anything without interest then he would be a  failure. He knew this would be an easy path to  follow, but he wanted to pursue his dream. He  wanted to do something in farming as he had  already learnt a lot about all the skills required  and knew he could make it a success and convince  others too. So, against everybody else’s advice, he  took a firm decision to pursue farming. “It was a  new field for me, so everything was a challenge,”  he says.

Ajith wishes to promote farming to others as he  himself has seen success in this field. As of now,  he supplies products like palm jaggery, desi cow  ghee, and cold-pressed oil across India. People  from abroad also buy these from him.

Kudos, Ajith, for pursuing your passion. -

Ozone therapy: Safe Zone  for Patients circulatory disorders, COVID-19, thyroid  disorders, and many more. This book is

written by Dr Mili Shah, the president of OFI;  Dr Jignasha Captain, the director of OFI;  and Dr Pradeep MK Nair, the consultant of

research of OFI.

Dr Mili Shah said, “Ozone therapy has been  in existence for over a century and has been  practised in India since 2003. Ozone therapy  is a holistic treatment that empowers your  body to heal itself naturally. This therapy has  effectively prevented and managed various  acute and chronic diseases. By organising workshops and annual conferences, we aim  to spread maximum awareness about ozone  therapy as a healing alternative and encourage LP President Mr. D R Kaathikeyan at the 12th annual conference of OFI

The Ozone Forum of India (OFI),  launched its first book, Clinical Ozone  Therapy, at the 12th Annual Conference,  ‘Ozone Therapy an Integrated Approach,’ which  was held on April 29, 2023, in Mumbai. The  two-day conference saw Mr Ramesh Chauhan,  the chairman of Bisleri International; and  Dr Mili Shah, the president of Ozone Forum  of India, along with some esteemed guests,  such as Dr K Satya Lakshmi, the director of  the National Institute of Naturopathy; Dr  D R Kaarthikeyan, the former director of  CBI; and Dr Maria Emilia Gadelha Serra, the  founder and president of the Brazilian Society  of Medical Ozone Therapy, unveiling the  book. This conference was attended by more  than 170 doctors.

Clinical Ozone Therapy throws light on the  benefits of ozone therapy in managing different  diseases: skin disorders, infectious diseases,  cancer, diabetes mellitus, respiratory diseases,

more people to resort to the treatment. We have  trained more than 2600 doctors from diverse  medical fields, to treat lakhs of patients suffering  from different diseases.”

Ozone therapy is a safe, simple, and painless  alternative medicinal therapy that has multiple  benefits. Ozone is a powerful germicidal, anti inflammatory, oxidative, stress-reducing, and  stress-relieving agent which, when administered  through this therapy in the body, gets converted  into oxygen, O2 (the most important element  required by our bodies), and nascent oxygen, O.  The latter is a powerful energetic molecule that  readily attacks disease-causing microorganisms  (bacteria, virus, fungi, etc.) while NOT harming  any human cells, which helps in the treatment of  diseases and allows the human body to regenerate  good cells and enhance its immunological  response. Ozone therapy addresses the root cause  of diseases which are usually caused by oxidative  stress and lack of circulation.
