My journey with Life Positive

My journey with Life Positive

June 2016

By Debasis Ghosh

I have been an ardent reader and follower of Life Positive for more than a decade.

The magazine has been a companion of sorts from my early 40s till date. There have been blips in between brought on by job and location changes, but the administrative team had been kind enough to forward me the missed monthly copies whenever I requested.

Life Positive and its very talented team came into my life when I was seeking answers to situations I was unable to fathom. It kind of became an anchor to life and a guide of sorts.  Waiting eagerly for the magazine to drop into my letter box became a monthly ritual over the years. The articles I eagerly look forward to every month are stories of spiritual giants walking this earth and guiding many seekers. It is astonishing how Life Positive and its team of talented editors have month over month, portrayed at least one spiritually advanced personality in the issue.

The annual anniversary lead stories are a treat to the reader. The depth of research and detail just shines through the write-ups. I preserve the annual editions for posterity and to re-read. The 2015 anniversary edition, Meet the Masters, was so very informative.

Many articles over the years have enabled my learning and expanded my thought process. The May 2010 article on the chakras was written in a simple manner  but without compromising on depth which made it very easy to understand. The mystical Mount Kailash has been featured in many issues over the decade and each time there is a new learning which sets the pulse racing. I long to visit the Mount; and I hope it will not remain wishful thinking. Life Positive has also opened a huge window for me to the world of alternative healing. Be it unani, ayurvedic, Chinese, or pranic healing.  It has given hope to thousands looking for a non-invasive line of treatment and I have been no exception to this. I can very candidly admit that my knowledge of alternative healing has largely been via Life Positive.

I have also lost count of the follow-ups, purchases and subsequent readings of the books reviewed and recommended every month by Life Positive. The asanas, mudras and breathing techniques in the yoga column are explained so lucidly that one can practice them every day. Our eating habits as a family have unconsciously undergone a change for the better because of the health topics covered by Life Positive.

It is quite difficult to describe in words how much Life Positive has benefitted me. It has enabled me to understand difficult situations and more importantly; given me a way to connect with other like-minded spiritual seekers. Today I am a Kriya Yoga practitioner and I have a lot to thank Life Positive for this.
