Review of The Abode Of The Beloved, by Rajinder Singh, SK Publications,INR 250; 150 pages
This collection of spiritual lessons, embellished with many stories and anecdotes drawn from Rajinder Singh’s repertoire of teachings about spirituality, is an extended framework for bringing us closer to our own epiphanies. In the meantime, the author suggests that we find ways to hone our skills as we “travel into our inner realms of light, celestial music and divine love.” The journey outlined in the book takes us through six escalating levels of engagement with the inspirational poetry of Sant Darshan Singh illuminating the path, with annotations from the author.
These extended discourses are often in the form of parables, and the moral ties in with the opening stanzas. So we are guided through these evolutionary stages with spiritually evocative titles such as “Holiday at the abode of the beloved,” “The divine song of awakening,” “The destination and the guide,” “Wonder of his assembly”. For the spiritually inclined, and even for those who wonder about the nature of epiphanies, this is a poetic source of inspiration and guidance. It evokes a sense of meditative wonder, and many will find in these pages that singular spark which may make a difference in their quest for connecting with something beyond the physical realities of life.
