Heart-to-Heart Advice

I have been reading Life Positive regularly for  the past couple of months, and I really enjoy  the articles therein. I particularly like your  Heartspeak column. Each time I read it, it opens  up some insights which we miss in everyday  living. I appreciate what Ajay Kalra is serving  for our souls. His October 2022 issue article  Which life do you want? is yet another gem which  forced me to contemplate my complaints and  disappointments in life. The advice of changing  the mindset to change our life is one of the  greatest tools. Things, situations, and problems  change when our perspective changes; life is full  of changes. The magazine works as an anchor to  hold me steady. Thank you.

Bhakti shows the way within

Devotion in Motion in the October 2022 issue was  a wonderful read. It has delightfully highlighted  the forms as well as the styles of devotion.  Though bhakti is practised differently across

our land, it connects all of us to the same divine  force that is being worshipped. The practice may  differ, but the experience of devotion, surrender,  and love for the divine is one and the same. It

was a much-needed article for the current times  to show many millennials what devotion means  and how it can transform lives.

I loved the article The Spirit, Not the Letter by  Suma Varughese in the October 2022 issue. She  brings out the process of spiritual evolution  beautifully by giving examples of all religions  that espouse the same. We do often get trapped  in the external as we don’t practise true devotion  by getting connected internally. This article  made me introspect on the true meaning of the  Divine.

The cover story on the bhakti movement was  also very informative as it showed how it had an  impact on all of society at all times. After reading  this, I also began following its principles to  whatever extent I could and shall always do so.

Think about it

The October 2022 issue was power-packed with  great articles on various aspects of devotion  and growth. I loved the article Windbag by  Gurjas Kaur, where she shares how a change  of fortune initially caused problems through  negative thoughts and was later resolved with  simple acceptance and resolve. She also brings  out how negative thoughts often cause physical  issues in most of us. Now, even doctors often  talk of stress being a cause of many ailments.  Here, the author makes us understand the same  through a simple anecdote. I certainly thought  about how to de-stress myself by thinking only  positive thoughts after reading this article.

Guilt-free weekends

Being a Mumbaikar, I used to be often confused  about whether street food which I love is good  or bad. The article Street-Smart by Naini  Setalvad in the October 2022 issue was great as  I understood all the aspects of the various types  of street food. Now, I am clear on what to enjoy  without guilt and what to make a part of my  life. I took the liberty of sharing this wisdom  with all my friends, and we have made a pact  to enjoy ourselves with street food at least once  a week, enjoying and relishing it without any  guilt by knowing its benefits.
