Surrender

Surrender

May 2016 I got operated for bladder cancer in May 2015, and then opted for some natural remedies and healing modalities to cleanse. I imagined that I would not be needing any other allopathic remedies if I went this way. And it’s with much gratitude that I state that I was proven wrong :) I had to undergo another surgery two days ago. The tumours in the bladders had manifested again since I had not taken the suggested treatment. But this time I did not protest against the treatment or follow-up therapy. This time I was travelling lighter (now I understand what Suma Varughese meant by that term, which she used as her book title) as all is surrendered to the God who makes us flow through the breath, and through all else around. We are His children and He knows how to take the best care of us. This time and from now on, I don’t expect a smooth life for me, as that is not at all fun. Fun, for me, is when even in the deadliest of circumstances I remember God and have faith that whatever is going on is something I have chosen to be more and more with God. One thing I can vouch for from my own experience (I am sure many would agree), we cannot know what is God, or how to pray (not for health/or wealth, but for the connection that has been rediscovered), if not for adverse situations. Adverse situations are our best friends in disguise, as they take us back to our Source, which we forgot somewhere on the way. I saw a child in front on me on the hospital bed, when we were all lined up to enter the operation theatre. He was playfully using the touch buttons of his bed to make it go up and down. He was totally oblivious of the surgery (travelling extremely light), having placed all the burden on his parents. And a thought came: Are we not, the children of God, also supposed to travel lighter? To be playful and just having faith whether we are floating or even drowning... So much faith that you will always be your God’s beloved no matter what... Here I am resting on the bed, basking in the silence within, ready for all that is lined up for me - for it cannot be without my God's wish… feeling ready for all the pain that is there, so that I am a bit in touch with others' pain as well… having faith for my journey, and for all the journeys of my planet mates. - Monica Gulati, New Delhi
