The world of PLR
September 2016
The last weekend of July offered a sumptuous banquet of workshops and discourses on regression and reincarnation to the enthusiastic group gathered at the Holiday Inn hotel, Delhi for the 5th Past Life Regression Convention (PLRC). The annual convention was hosted by renowned PLR therapists, Dr Newton Kondaveti and Dr Lakshmi G V’s Association for Regression and Reincarnation Research (ARRR). Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, the union cabinet minister for women and child development, was the guest of honour.
In their keynote addresses, Dr Kondaveti and Dr Lakshmi emphasised the importance of envisioning ‘the big picture’ – which was the theme of the convention –and explained how this could heal the part and consequently heal the whole in any situation. “When we apply the holoscopic or the all-pervading view, we begin to understand the larger reality, gradually becoming aware of the big picture,” said Dr Kondaveti.
In her keynote address, USA-based Dr Janet Cunningham, an internationally-renowned and board-certified specialist in regression therapy, shared about being a member of a group of people from a native Indian tribe who have reincarnated together in this life. She explained how they all had come together in this life to deal with the horrendous memories of the past with each other’s support.
Conducted by the who’s who of the global PLR world, the workshops brimmed with fascinating topics – from animal spirits, to addressing ancestral issues, from accessing cellular memory for healing to bringing out the inner artist, from psychodrama to transcending gender identity and sexuality. Interestingly, Hitesh Vashisht’s workshop at the event explored ‘the big picture’ behind near death experiences (NDE) through regression therapy. He demonstrated and explained how the NDE can be interpreted to understand messages or gifts one may have received, but may not have been aware of before a regression session.
Another interesting workshop was Roopesh Ravindran’s Hriydyakasha Dharana – which means healing from the inner victim. This is a Vedic meditative technique which focuses on the heart space or anahata chakra and deals with the intensity of emotion and feeling, leading the practitioner to the dimension beyond emotion. Participants, mesmerised by the mysterious and intriguing world of PLR, couldn’t wait for the next PLRC to be held in Mumbai.
