UPLIFTing the world
February 2014
The bad news is that the civilization as we know it is coming to an end. And the good news is that the civilization as we know it is coming to an end,” remarked renowned development biologist Bruce Lipton in his talk on Spontaneous Evolution during UPLIFT.
Held in Byron Bay, Australia, in December, UPLIFT, or Universal Peace and Love in a Festival of Transformation, was an interactive programme of inspiring lectures, interactive talks and dynamic panel discussions. With globally renowned names like Bruce Lipton, Satish Kumar, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Anita Moorjani, Eben Alexander, Vandana Shiva among many others, gracing the occasion, the four-day global event was an unmatched experience. Not only that, the simultaneously ongoing sessions featuring yoga, dance, devotional chants, sound therapy and art workshops lent a festive character to the whole experience. The event was inaugurated by Arakwal people, the traditional custodians of Byron Bay area, with a welcoming ceremony. Evening programmes comprised world music and uplifting dance beats from international musicians.
The festival was categorised into sessions like evolutionary room, visionary tent, uplift stage and spontaneous evolution sessions. Each session had various speakers and artists from across the world perform before the audiences on all four days. There was Synergy yoga with Simon Borg Olivier, Kundalini Dance with Leyolah Antara, and Chocolate yoga along with talks on topics like True Wellness, The Economics of Happiness, Sustainability and Social Justice by Vandana Shiva among others.
“The thought behind putting together this whole concept was to invite people to realise that each one of us is the change, and to unite our collective creativity, skills, wisdom, infrastructures and communities to engage and serve a conscious evolution,” said Brijbala, a part of the organising team. The festival was live streamed for the virtual participants, thus making it a truly interconnected example of oneness.
