Women need emotional nourishment,” remarked Dr Partap Chauhan as he talked about the emotional health of women, especially in India. Along with Dr Mahima Bakshi, a fitness and beauty consultant, he was giving a talk at Jiva Ayurveda’s cultural event ‘Healthy Women, Healthy World’, as it celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th. The event was hosted by Jiva Public School, Faridabad.
Dr Chauhan, Director, Jiva Ayurveda, while addressing the gathering, said that the health of a woman, not just at the physical level, but at the mental, emotional and spiritual levels also, is important to create a healthy world. “The health of any society or civilisation can be assessed by the health and position of women,” he added. Exhorting the significance of emotional cleansing, he urged women in general to not suppress their emotions. “Emotional blockages mostly manifest as physical diseases or disorders, especially related to thyroid, uterus, PCOD and such like,” he said.
Dr Bakshi addressed the women in the gathering, giving them simple yet powerful tips to lead a healthier life. Emphasising the importance of self-love and taking time out for oneself, she said, “Staying fit is the foremost step towards staying young.” The chief guest, Seema Trikha, MLA, Faridabad, extolled the importance of education, saying, “Education is working towards blowing life into healthcare.”
The event, co-organised by Rotary Club and Dr Bakshi’s company, Birthing Naturally, also witnessed the active participation of 22 people from Lithuania. The event ended with the felicitation of women achievers.
